Another Wild-Fire Story

 In Dellos

Another text I received from Miss Michelle, one of my Chino instructors who Fiance, who was stationed in Camp Pendleton, was deployed to TQ, Iraq on September 1st. Michelle immediately e-mailed her Fiance about the fire situation in Carbon Canyon (where he grew up) where his family lives, whose home had been put on an evacuation-hold. Corporal Ian Dilly who has put his own life on the line every day while fighting for our country, found himself fighting his emotions to protect his family from danger, yet being thousands of miles away. His emergency phone call to his family from Iraq showed not only his love for our country, but also for his community that had helped to create the man he is today. Fortunately at the time of his call, his mind was put at ease when he was assured that the strong winds had both subsided and changed direction, turning away from the family’s home. Corporal Dilly was relieved by the promise that when he returns to the U.S. in March, he will find his Carbon Canyon neighborhood unscathed. The Chino Valley continues to demonstrate a cohesiveness of community and love and support for their firefighters and law officials. The Dellos Dance Connection is proud to be a part of such a caring community!
